The Meeting – June 24: DAY 5

On Saturday, June 24, the National Theatre Radu Stanca got to present their show “Do you speak silence?” – a play on how society tries to neglect facts in just not speaking about them.

The plays we got to see during the Meeting are fundamentally different in their aesthetics and in their way of treating the respective topic of human trafficking. All the more exciting it is to create something meaningful together: The workshops with all team is special, as every director gets to present their way of working to the whole group and then undertake the experiment of melting all approaches into one evening. “The Human Trade Network – Showing” is an experiment on global theatre making and an attempt to bring the different stories of human trafficking into one context. We are confronted with language barriers, cultural differences and mere differences in aesthetics and taste all reflecting different stories, all having different agendas coming from different cultural memories. A real theatrical lab if you want.

Some more impressions on the rehearsals and workshops below.
